Castleburn is architecturally designed to blend into the landscape of the Southern Drakensberg, the resort's most prominent feature is the rocky pinnacles that surround it. With Lake Madingofani at its feet, Castleburn lures eland, reedbuck and around a hundred bird species to its peaceful surrounds.
The architectually designed cottages were thatched and built with hand-hewn local stone, to stand inconspicuous against their natural milieu. They are either studio 4-sleepers, 1 bedroom 4-sleepers, 3 bedroom 6-sleepers or 2 bedroom 6-sleepers.
