Nibela Lake Lodge is located on the St. Lucia Wetland of Lake
St. Lucia. Approximately 3 hours drive North of Durban and approximately 6 hours
drive from Johannesburg via Ermelo, Piet Retief, Pongola and Mkuze. 20 minute
boat ride from False Bay Park brings you to this unique and exclusive property.
The unobtrusive architecture blends magically into the forest surrounds. Guests
can indulge in the solitude and tranquillity of Africa, with only the sounds
of the abundant bird life breaking the silence of this peaceful sanctuary.
Nibela Lake Lodge inherits one of Africa’s World Heritage Sites, with
a unique diversity of scenery, fauna and flora forming part of The Greater St.
Lucia Wetland Park and is surrounded by 35 000 hectares of waterway and 100
000 hectares of Game Reserve. Each chalet is inter-connected by spectacular
raised wooden walkways that lead to the prestigious complex, main lodge facility
area, an open restaurant which seats 30 people, a main lounge area leading out
onto a wooden viewing deck overlooking the magnificent St Lucia Lake, swimming
pool, and a curio shop. Access the lodge via a 60-minute land transfer, travelling
through dense forest where peace and tranquillity surrounds you together with
a warm welcome from the inhabitants of the Nibela Peninsula.
11 air-conditioned thatched lodges are situated high in the cool of the forest,
beneath a canopy of trees. Bedrooms are decorated to blend with the surrounds
and each leads onto a private wooden viewing deck.
