Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort is located in Kota Kinabalu, capital of the Malaysian state of Sabah at the northern tip of Borneo. The resort consists of the four storey Tanjung Wing facing the South China Sea and the long sweep of Tanjung Aru Beach; and the new seven storey Kinabula Wing with rooms facing the islands of the protected Tunku Abdul Rahman Park or Crocker Range, capped by Mount Kinabalu.

The furnishings of the 500 rooms are in restful colours with timber, rattan and cane providing a local Borneo flavour. All rooms and Suites have a bedside telephone with IDD, minibar, individually controlled air-conditioning, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, TV with in-house movies, music channels, bedside alarm clock and room safe.

Bathrobes and bedroom slippers are also supplied and the marble bathrooms feature a hairdryer and separate telephone extension. All rooms haveviews from their private balconies. There is an option of king or twin beds in all rooms, Suites have a sitting room with sofabed.
