Selva Verde is a rainforest lodge which is dedicated to educating its guests on Costa Rica's fragile tropical rainforest. Founded in 1985, Selva Verde Lodge, is located in the lowlands of northeastern Costa Rica on a very large, private tract of tropical rainforest. It is adjacent to Braulio Carrillo National Park and the Organization for Tropical Studies' field station, La Selva.
Beyond its roughly 500 acres of preserved rainforest, the lodge has a resident naturalist, local guides and an ever-expanding reference library. The Lodge provides ample accommodations with 45 double rooms with private baths and showers and 5 quadruple rooms with shared facilities. The rooms are well maintained and open into large, spacious, wooden balconies.
While at Selva Verde, the visitor may schedule an array of activities from absorbing the wonder of the forest, to rafting on the Sarapiquí, or hiking Selva Verde's rainforest trails with a resident naturalist.
An open and spacious dining room near the river harmonizes well with the jungle ambience.
