Arenal is an active volcano. Its very loud and low rumblings can be heard intermittently
throughout the day. In addition, in clear weather small eruptions can be seen
against the night sky.
La Fortuna Area is approximately 400 meters above sea level, and 16 km(9.5 miles) from the entrance to Arenal Volcano National Park.
