The island lies on the Tropic of Capricorn (23 degrees south of the equator), 72 kilometres north-east off the coast from Gladstone, central Queensland. 534 kilometres north of Brisbane and 1183 kilometres south of Cairns.
On Heron Island you walk straight from the beach to the Reef's edge and the waters are literally teeming with life. You'll explore acres of living coral just minutes from your room. There are no marble fountains or bronze statues. No lifts to catch or keys to lose.
There are 117 rooms, with all rooms serviced daily. To help guests leave the outside world behind, TVs and telephones are not found in guest rooms available on the island. Room tariff includes 3 meals each day. Breakfast and lunch are buffets while dinner is a 4 course menu service.
There are over twenty different dive sites. With so many acres of living coral teeming with fish.
