Broken River Mountain Retreat is located in the Eungella National Park in the hinterland of The Whitsundays, 85 kilometres west of Mackay in North Queensland. Set on the bank of Broken River overlooking what is considered a reliable platypus viewing location, and surrounded by pristine sub-tropical rainforests, the Retreat offers accommodation in self-contained lodges featuring extensive use of timber. The theme continues to the main lodge and restaurant where the emphasis is all complicated dining in a tranquil atmosphere.
A full program of Eco-Accredited activities is on offer to guests. Activities are led by experienced guides and are conducted on protected areas within Eungella National Park.
The retreat has 15 self-contained cabins, where you may relax in front of the open fireplace.
Prepare dinner in the privacy of your own cabin or join your hosts in the Platypus Lodge Dining Room for a home-cooked meal.
