Two hours drive south of Auckland, in 14 acres of land sloping to the water's edge. Trees on the property were milled, yielding richly toned timbers which have been used with effect throughout Tinopai (pronounced; Tin-o-pie). Bronze sculptures with a marine theme enhance the schist stone and native timber architectural features.
Tinopai caters to a maximum of eight guests at any one time. There are four well appointed suites, each with their own distinctive character, and with direct access to the gardens and pools. Luxurious king and queen size beds. The lounge has deep-cushioned armchairs and sofas, a tournament-size billiard table - crafted from an old black walnut tree planted on the property last century - and an 800-gallon, in-wall saltwater aquarium.
Relax in the waters of the hot mineral spa fed from a geothermal
aquifer hundreds of feet beneath Tinopai. Test your golfing skills on our driving
range, or on the professionally-designed putting green.
