Pine Lodge Resort is a two-hour drive from Lae along a sealed highway through mountain scenery. You arrive in Bulolo Valley and Wau, a historic "gold mining" township, where you can enjoy the cool fresh mountain air, play golf or tour the region to see relics of WWII, goldmines and dredges, the McAdam National Park and the smoked bodies at Aseki.
The Pine Lodge Resort was first built in the 1930s to cater
for the gold rush and still retains its colonial charm in a landscaped garden
setting. The lodge offers seventeen deluxe rooms with private facilities, balconies,
satellite televisions, refrigerators and coffee and tea making facilities. There
is also a swimming pool, a lounge, a restaurant and superb grounds.
