The Resort is located on the northern side of the mainland between Lae and Alotau on the tip of Cape Nelson, and is accessible only by sea and air.
Tufi Dive Resort has twelve comfortable but basic rooms, each with a double and a single bed. Six of the rooms have ceiling fans, mosquito nets and plentiful hot water. The newer units are equipped with air-conditioning and verandas with spectacular views of the fjords and the ocean.
The new main building houses a dining room, lounge, bar, and the reception. The wooden building is in harmony with the tropical surroundings, and feature traditional woven walls and carvings from many different regions of the country.
The menu in the restaurant is a mix of local seafood, vegetables and tropical fruits.
Because there is very little current movement in the fjords, many sponges and coral species grow prolifically and there are some very large sponges and shelf corals that are not common on the outer reefs. Most of the dive sites are within thirty minutes from the resort. Other common sites are schools of colorful reef fish, large pelagics such as hammerheads and groupers, and a variety of soft and hard corals.
