In a wooded setting, this is the only hotel on Huahine with overwater bungalows (all of which feature glass lagoon-viewing floor panels). In the hotel’s 58 units, there are six overwater suites (each with private terrace), 24 beachfront bungalows, four beach suites, and 24 garden rooms. Every room combines Polynesian atmosphere with modern comfort. Dining is in the Omai Restaurant where you’ll be served mahi mahi, marlin, papaya, mango, and pineapple, and savor the the local vanilla flavoring used in traditional dishes. The hotel’s facilities include a boutique and a variety of water sports.
Excursions and activities emphasize discovery of the island’s richness- like freshwater eel feeding; visits to ceremonial sites; tours of a sacred lake and its ancient fish traps (set hundreds of years ago for the royal family-these are unique to Huahine and fish can still only be removed by descendants of the Tahitian royal family); songs and dances of the island school children.
