
Located on Tongatupu, 21 km west of Nuku'alofa, the capital of Tonga, on the Hihifo Peninsula and bordering Ha'atafu Beach Marine Reserve.Ha'atafu Beach, the resort is family operated and specializes in surfing holidays.
Total number of guests they are able to accommodate is 24 but
they prefer to limit the number of surfers to 16 at any one time. Accommodation
is in 8 traditionally thatched roof fales (bungalows) with twin, triple and
family fales available.
Ha'atafu Beach features safe all-tides swimming within the expansive lagoon
area which also provides sanctuary to an astounding variety of tropical fish
and corals. The coastline here faces west-northwest making the prevailing East-Southeast
tradewinds directly offshore and is open to groundswells from winter storm activity
in both hemispheres. This makes Ha'atafu one of the few surfing locations in
the South Pacific to enjoy good surfing conditions year round.
Ha'atafu Beach Resort offers 8 traditionally thatched roof fales
(bungalows) set amongst landscaped gardens on the beach. All fales are simply
furnished with all linens, towels, and mosquito nets supplied. Guests share
2 centrally located ammenities blocks with solar showers also available.
Food is one of the highlights of the Resort with regular supplies of fresh fish
guaranteed by Resort boats.
